Press Release - Appointment of New Executive Chef

After an amazing vintage 2024 in the Hunter Valley, things are only getting better and better at Leogate Estate Wines with an amazing addition to our culinary team.

The Gates Restaurant at Leogate Estate Wines is absolutely thrilled to welcome Mr. Edward Crawford to our Leogate Estate family as our new Executive Chef.

Born and raised in the beautiful land of Scotland, Edward honed his culinary skills in his hometown, Glasgow, before moving to England and further to Sydney where earlier in his career he worked at The Australian Club and Kable’s Restaurant at the Regent Hotel. Later in his career he would return to Sydney for the opening of the W Hotel at Finger Wharf in Woolloomooloo where he enjoyed helping to establish a modern style of hotel management and culinary

direction.

 

Having spent the last two decades working in Japan, Edward has left his mark serving as Executive Chef at many award-winning Tokyo establishments, most notably the New York Bar & Grill at Park Hyatt Tokyo, The Westin Hotel, and six years as personal chef to the U.S. Ambassador at his private residence.

Edward is an Executive Chef of outstanding gastronomic ability, with a knack for creating unforgettable flavours. We are looking forward to him driving our menus with subtle innovations, utilising the best of local and seasonal produce which complement the outstanding wines we make and showcase at Leogate Estate.
